HABC Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (Refresher)
This qualification is designed for people who are involved with preparing food in a catering environment and are due to receive refresher training.
In addition to the fundamentals of Food Safety, candidates will gain an appreciation of the specific types of hazards, controls and monitoring associated with preparing food.
Food handlers must be supervised and instructed and/or trained in food hygiene matters commensurate with their work activities, i.e. they must be competent to produce safe food.
Due Diligence: It is a defence to prove that a business took all reasonable precautions and all due diligence to prevent the offence, i.e. doing everything reasonably practicable to safeguard consumer health.
This qualification is designed principally for those who are food handlers working in catering and are due to receive refresher training.
The achievement of the Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (refresher)qualification will enable learners to identify how to make changes to catering practices in order to improve the safety of catering services.
